Thomas Aprea (Henry Cavill) is a boy from New York whose family is killed in a car explosion while he is very young, an accident that was actually planned by the mafia. The mafia wants him dead as well, but Thomas' uncles ask that his life be spared. They send him away to an English boarding school in hopes to protect him and shield him from the truth. Upon Thomas' return to America, the mafia once again demands that he leave the country. They do not want him to ever realize they are responsible for the death of his family, knowing that once he is older he would seek revenge. This time Thomas moves to Venice, Italy to live with his uncle (Joe Mantagne). While there, he begins to deal with the strange new feelings of love he has for his uncle's wife (Emmanuelle Seigner). Aside from this, he continues to be plagued by guilt and confusion - he has terrible nightmares about a car explosion and his family dying, but he does not know why. He is still unaware of what exactly happened to them. Thomas' uncles do everything possible to care for him, trying to help him deal with having had such a difficult childhood. Overall, the film is a romantic drama examining the difficulties of Thomas' life, focusing on his experiences and emotions as he grows up. Starring: // Henry Cavill ...
